Eye: Deep amber.
Nose: Bursts of summer florals typical of this region. Linden flowers, elderflower and apple blossom are followed by ripe orchard fruits.
Palate: Sweet cider made from red apples. Pear juice and just a hint of almond lead to a long finish, somewhat unusual for a VS expression.
A complex red, with a core of cherry and strawberry fruit framed by almond, loamy earth and iron notes. Silky yet solidly built, with excellent balance and a long, fruit- and mineral-tinged aftertaste. Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Best from 2025 through 2033....
Chateau de Montifaud VSOP Cognac is a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne region, aged for eight to ten years, with the first eight months being spent in new oak. This cognac is fruit centered, with subtle hints of pears, apricots, and floral notes. For its age this is truly a sophisticated cognac and quite a delicacy on the palate.
Much older than the regulation asks, this extra old cognac will open you the doors of our “paradise cellar” where we keep our oldest cognacs. This XO already has copper coulour, outstanding aromas: very complex nuances of dry flowers and dry fruits. Hints of nuts and spices.Very soft tannins with an amazing and mellow length on the palate. A great length on the palate with a gentle and powerful rancio.
