Aromas of blueberry, black cherry and blackberry. Medium-to full-bodied with velvety tannins. A solid core of black fruit on the palate with some toasted complexity. Black tea comes through.
This is the “third” wine of famed classed-growth Chateau Calon Segur. From younger vines, this is made for earlier drinking while you wait for the Grand Vin to mature. I tried a bottle of this a few nights ago and it’s fantastic. After about an hour of air, it really does drink like a “baby Calon”. Outstanding value!
