Raw ginger and white smoke complicate crushed apple and pear aromas as the 2016 Blanc de Blanc Alta Langa Riserva Pas Dosé Sessantacinquemesi blossoms in the glass. This impresses further with waves of elegant bubbles and a salty flourish that adds a savory edge to its citrus-tinged orchard fruits. It finishes squeaky clean yet long, leaving hints of raw almond and lemon oil that mingle on the midpalate well for over a minute. The 2016 is complex yet remarkably fresh, especially considering the sixty-five months it spent maturing on its lees. Nicely done.
