The 2010 La Lagune has more clarity and delineation than the 2009 on the nose: intense blackberry, briary, crushed stone and a touch of graphite. These are the best aromatics on a La Lagune…so far. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and a keen line of acidity that combines to manifest a serious and complex La Lagune; sophisticated with layers of mineral-rich black fruit. I love the focus here and the way it just lingers in the mouth long after the wine has departed. It is certainly a long-term proposition and I would start broaching this from 2022 onwards. Tasted at the La Lagune vertical at the château.
