Fratelli Alessandria has crafted an elegant and subdued Dolcetto without the trappings of heavy, overripe fruit. The unoaked 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba is medium-lean in appearance with dark ruby highlights. The bouquet has tart fruit, pomegranate seed and sweet grenadine. It feels tight and fruity, with mineral dryness on the finish. I really like what this estate has done with this much-beloved local grape. Production is 6,000 bottles.
