Remarkably pretty, the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Fontelontano blossoms in the glass with an array of dusty violets, wild strawberries and wet stone. This is lifted in feel, with silken textures oset by a core of tactile mineral tones, as ripe wild berry fruits and perfumed inner orals cascade across a stream of zesty acidity. It nishes long and staining, with a coating of sweet tannins that remain as licorice traces and an air of lavender slowly fades. The Vigna Fontelontano is a total success for the vintage, showing its perfumed personality while maintaining a solid core of fruit and regal structure.
