The 2021 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Swan & Calera Selection comes from Calera and Swan clone vines planted in marine sedimentary soil at 1,000 to 1,100 feet in altitude. Made with 50% whole clusters, it opens with pure tones of cinnamon, red cherry and pomegranate; and with time in the glass, it reveals nuances of Earl Grey tea leaves, tangerine, aniseed and rosewater. The light-bodied palate has a weightless feel with its finely chalky tannins and shimmery acidity, yet it offers highly concentrated, nuanced flavors and has a long, expressive finish. 330 cases were made.
