This is a powerful and pointed Xinomavro, showing off some typical rusticity but having just enough fruit to balance (some of) the power. It's earthy and complex. Very dry, a bit acidic and astringent?in other words, Xinomavro?this is an old-school version of the grape that mostly succeeds. It does so at a very nice price too. It will need a little cellar time, however. As I've said in other notes this issue, this desperately needs time and a food pairing. If you're into sweet, fruity and soft wines, look away. This is for lovers of old-school Barolo.
